Kirkintilloch Spider Bridge
Erected in 1888 the bridge was described in the local newspaper of that time as " a giddy, shaky, spider-looking inclined plane over the valley of the Bothlin." It was welcomed by the people of Waterside for it provided a direct path from the village to the railway station at Lenzie.
When we married, our first home was just a few minutes away from it and, when our girls were older, our walks often took us over the bridge. In those days the trees at each end had grown considerably and this gave you the feeling that you really were high up in the trees.
For many years the council neglected the bridge and, when it became unsafe, it was demolished. The unusual structure had become a well-known Kirkintilloch landmark and was a great loss when it disappeared in 1987.

WORDS OF WISDOM?
For Him
We men have many faults,
Poor women have but two.
There's nothing good they say
There’s nothing good they do.
For Her
Women’s faults are many,
Men have only two.
Everything they say
And everything they do.

A last word about HAIKU -
If you don't mind ignoring the rules, you can experiment as I have done here.
